Miles Teller Shares His Latest Comments On Top Gun 3 After Paramount Confirmed A Sequel Is In Development Miles Teller is giving fans an update on a third Top Gun movie. The 39-year-old actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Nov. 4, to talk about his new movie Paper Tiger. Kimmel asked what he knows about a sequel to 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick. In April, Paramount Pictures announced the film was “officially in development with a script underway.” Executives also said it would be “reuniting Tom Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer.” “I know everybody’s really excited about it,” Teller said with a laugh. He said Cruise’s next project is Days of Thunder, where he will race cars. “And then I hope he wants to fly some planes, too, ’cause we would love to do it,” Teller said. Teller also called Cruise “the closest thing to a mentor that I think a lot of us ever had in this business.” He said Cruise is always available. “I’ve had to hang up on Tom because he’s so excited,” he said. A script by Ehren Kruger has reportedly been in the works for over two years. In May 2025, Christopher McQuarrie said the storyline was “already in the bag.” Teller plays the son of Anthony Edwards’ character from the 1986 original.
