We walked and prayed for 24 hours straight. What happened during those 24 hours changed my perspective. 🙏 For the second year in a row, my good friend Jeff Hawkins and I completed a 24-hour prayer walk at One Church Home in Fairview, Tennessee, right outside of Nashville. The concept is simple, but powerful. For 24 straight hours, we walk laps around the church parking lot. Every time we come around, we grab prayer requests from boxes filled with prayers sent in from people near and far. We read them, pray over them as we walk, come back, grab more, and continue. Last year, we finished physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausted. This year was totally different. I rarely felt tired. No blisters. My body wasn’t broken down, and somewhere during those 24 hours, I realized something: The walk didn’t get easier, the Holy Spirit took over. My faith is stronger, my relationship with God is deeper, and reading hundreds of prayers from people fighting battles most of us will never see reminded me how quickly our own stress can be put into perspective. It doesn’t mean our problems don’t matter. It means sometimes we need perspective to remember how blessed we still are in the middle of them. And one of my biggest takeaways was this: Asking for prayer is not weakness. It takes courage to tell someone you’re struggling. It takes strength to admit you don’t have all the answers. Some of the people who feel powerless right now may not realize how much strength it took simply to reach out and ask someone to pray for them. Twenty-four hours of walking taught me a lot about faith, gratitude, perspective and what people are silently carrying every single day. Jeff, thank you for bringing me into this for another year. To everyone who walked with us, supported us or trusted us with a prayer request, thank you. We’ll be back for year three! 👏 If this message speaks to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it. And if you need prayer today, comment 🙏 below or message me privately. #prayer #pray #prayerrequest
