@charlesmcgnarles: Checking the math on LADWP’s Board meeting: President Marks claimed raising your AC 5 degrees lowers bills by 20–30%. Testing it against LADWP’s published summer rate cards shows it only saves ~11% on a typical home. Why? Because 73% of your Tier 1 price is an unvoted 19.26¢/kWh automatic surcharge applied to every unit! We need an independent audit. then why was mine so much higher in the months before the heat and need for AC. I was in the red zone until my last bill. WHY? and my last bill was still to high but I used my AC the whole time and it was lower than when I didn't use it.

gummiebearlover :

gaslighting us with 20-30%

Micky Serrano :

My new DWP bill is 1,100 vs 2,100

Soul Archaeology Podcast :

I live in the valley with no ac. (It broke several years ago and even if I fixed it, I couldn’t afford to use it) My DWP bill goes up by at least 100 dollars in summer regardless.

Alex Medina :

Sounds like there’s a monopoly and that needs to be busted
