@cbsla: Mayor-elect Nithya Raman said she has already spoken with Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell when asked whether her administration will bring potential funding cuts or firings to the LAPD. Raman, a Democratic socialist, has faced pushback from the city’s police union during her run for office.  During her campaign, she was at times critical of McDonnell and the department, primarily for its response to federal immigration enforcement operations.
