Biggest thing my parent taught me to do when driving is not to half commit. Creep etc, if you're going to commit. Do it. Pull out fast if you need to.

Disagree with what he said. He basically said dont creep because the delay almost caused an accident, but the counter argument to that is if she started her quick movement a little later she still wouldnt have seen the car, and it would have been a severe accident. Creeping was the correct decision since it gained you vision without commitment and gave the driver vision of you.
