Pro tip: when a male wants to split the bill, I feign concern and say “omg don’t worry about it, I got it, no need to feel embarrassed.” They get so flustered and you just say “everyone is struggling right now, don’t feel ashamed!” It’s 100% worth their reaction to pay the bill in full (and a couple times they INSISTED on paying in full anyway 😂)
