@quakereport6: BREAKING: Kīlauea Volcano in Hawaii has entered its 56th eruptive episode! On November 5, 2026, at approximately 12:10 p.m. Hawaii time, powerful lava fountains erupted from the north vent within Halemaʻumaʻu crater. According to the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, lava fountains rapidly intensified, reaching approximately 660 feet (200 meters) above the vent by 2:15 p.m. Smaller fountains are also active at the southwest vent. Radar observations indicate the volcanic plume has risen to approximately 18,000 feet above sea level. The volcano remains at WATCH / Aviation ORANGE, with lava activity currently confined to the summit crater. This follows several days of increasing lava overflows, elevated volcanic gas emissions, and changes in ground deformation. Kīlauea's ongoing episodic eruption began in December 2024, and scientists continue monitoring activity for further developments.
