homelessness and addiction culminated in my five year stay in a State Psychiatric hospital. no joke, I'm still out on Social Security Disability almost 15 years later. I was not so mentally unwell I needed that level of treatment and especially that many years- I was legally deemed a danger to myself by the State and DOHMH in court for the repeated ODs and attempts. true story, I'm sure you've heard a similar one

i could see you making changes to the shelters gurl you have a following you have the knowledge and your voice matters im in Australia 🇦🇺 but gurll i can see it start emails start alerting media etc make it change for the greater good above all there has to be someone watching over the ppl 'running the shelters ' make them accountable!!!

I would be really interested in a shelter series! I also would also like to learn more about the different laws targeting homeless people. I feel like there are a lot of these that most people aren't aware of like my city is currently trying to pass a law to fine people $1000 for possession of a stolen shopping cart.

Tbf a lot of people who really want to help can’t because of shitty systems that don’t give them the resources. I am no longer clinical but I have worked as a social worker in multiple settings and trust me if we could do more we would 😭😭😭
