POV Les questions débiles que les meufs aiment trop poser 🤣🤣 @rania.bryan
October 22, 2011. I didn’t know what the next 15 years would look like. I didn’t know the challenges I would face, the doors that would open, the people I would meet, or the woman I would become. All I knew was that I couldn’t keep living the way I was living. Something had to change, and that change had to start with ME. Today, October 22, 2026, I celebrate 15 years in long-term recovery. My two boys are a huge part of why this journey means so much to me. Because of a decision I made 15 years ago, they have a mother who continues to show up, who loves them through their struggles, who understands that people are more than their mistakes, and who knows firsthand that change is possible. I’m not a perfect mother, and recovery hasn’t made life perfect, but it has allowed me to be present in ways I couldn’t have been before. My recovery has also had an impact far beyond my own household. It has shaped how I show up for my family, the people I serve, and individuals who are still struggling to find their way. Every person I’ve had the opportunity to encourage, advocate for, or simply sit beside during a difficult moment is a reminder that my decision 15 years ago created opportunities for me to make a difference in the lives of others. To my sponsor: How do you put into words what it means to have someone walk beside you for 15 years? When I look back over this journey, so much has changed. People have come and gone. Life has taken turns I never expected. I’ve grown, I’ve struggled, I’ve celebrated, and I’ve had to learn some lessons the hard way. But through it all, there has been one person who has remained constant, and that’s you. You’ve seen versions of me that others never have. You’ve heard the fears, the frustrations, the doubts, and the dreams. You’ve celebrated the victories that the rest of the world may never have understood, and you’ve been there during the moments when I needed someone to remind me to keep going. You’ve loved me enough to tell me the truth, even when it wasn’t what I wanted to hear. You’ve never asked me to be perfect, but you’ve always encouraged me to be honest, accountable, and willing to grow. There is something incredibly special about having someone who knew you at the beginning of your recovery and is still standing beside you 15 years later. You didn’t just witness my recovery; you’ve been part of the foundation that has helped me build a different life. Thank you for never making me walk this journey alone. Thank you for your patience, your honesty, your guidance, and your unwavering presence. Fifteen years later, I still have the same sponsor, and that is something I will never take for granted. I hope you know how much you mean to me and how deeply grateful I am that God placed you in my life. Recovery has given me opportunities that the woman I was 15 years ago could have never imagined. But more importantly, it has given me the ability to be useful, to love differently, to extend grace, to take accountability, and to recognize that everybody deserves an opportunity to change their life. I still have struggles. I still make mistakes. I still have days when life gets heavy. Fifteen years of recovery hasn’t exempted me from being human. It has taught me how to navigate life without returning to the things that once kept me stuck. I’m grateful for God’s grace, for the people who never gave up on me, and for the opportunity to keep growing. 15 years. One day at a time. And I’m still becoming. #RecoveryIsPossible #WeDoRecover #OneDayAtATime
