Idk but in case anyone doesn’t know, you cannot use credit OR tap at ANY dispensary anywhere ever. I just need more people to know this because I’m going insane at my job xoxo

They still do, when it asks for your pin that's running it as debit, if you hit cancel it runs as credit.

fun fact unless you're actually inserting your card it's always credit. when you do actually insert your card it will default to debits which is the PIN and when you skip the pin it turns into credit.

The POS has options when tendering. And the Credit/debit falls under one option

they figured out how to run them the “same” basically & the machine reads the card. if the card is a debit it will ask you for a pin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

idk about yall. but anytime I use my debit card I have to enter my pin. but i don't wirh my credit card. I thought that was normal

My cash register only has cash or credit. If someone uses a card I hit credit and the card reader knows what kind it is due to the chip 🤷♀️

That’s because now they have it set up to either put in your PIN number (and run it as debit) OR you bypass the pin and have it ran as credit….

Gas station attendant to answer these questions! Debit cards will still be run like credit if tapped or bypass pin, this is why lotto has to be paid with chip. At least for Colorado, idk about other states but probably similar

I have a debit card, & I pressed credit at the Costco gas station because I hadn’t set up the PIN number yet, & it went through soooo 🤷🏼♀️🤡
