THIS IS INCREDIBLE: Democrats crushed it in the midterms, and the voters who made it happen are now telling Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer to get out of the way. A petition to replace Jeffries as the Democrats’ pick for Speaker has blown past 500,000 signatures, and Mark Ruffalo is sharing it. What set it off? The day after the blowout, Jeffries went on Morning Joe and said the American people “don’t want us to get even.” He also ruled out impeachment as a top priority. After everything Wannabe-King Donald and his crew have done to this country, voters weren’t hoping for a polite handshake. Rxposing waste, fraud and corruption has nothing to do with revenge. It’s Congress doing its job. Schumer is in even rougher shape. Minnesota Senator-elect Peggy Flanagan said on election night it’s “time for new leadership.” Senators-elect James Talarico and Abdul El-Sayed have both cast doubt on him staying on, and El-Sayed has already introduced Chris Van Hollen as the “next Senate majority leader.” Newly elected Pennsylvania Rep. Chris Rabb won’t endorse Jeffries for Speaker until he deals with Medicare for All, which Jeffries opposes. Then AIPAC congratulated both men by name on their caucuses’ wins. New California congresswoman Angela Gonzales-Torres replied with one word: “Bye.” Voters handed Democrats the gavel so somebody would finally hold Dear Leader accountable.
