@tommy_sadness: Present and past. 🎬 Peaky Blinders is a British crime drama that follows Tommy Shelby and the Shelby family as they rise from the muddy streets of post-World War I Birmingham into one of England's most feared criminal organisations. The series is set in 1919 and spans the turbulent years of the 1920s and early 1930s, blending fictional storytelling with historical context and real social change after the war. Although the Shelby family itself is fictional, the show takes inspiration from a real gang that operated in Birmingham in the late 19th and early 20th century, which gives the drama its authentic grit and sense of time. What makes Peaky Blinders stand out for so many fans is its mix of sharp characters, ambitious storytelling, iconic style, and the way it brings history alive through violence, power struggles and personal ambition. #peakyblinders #thomasshelby #peakyblindersedit #tommyshelby #sad
