That bright headlight cuts through the darkness, illuminating a plume of white smoke as the locomotive rolls past. There's even wood in the tender — a nice visual touch, though No. 3 is a converted oil burner and the wood is just for show! A boxcar, passenger car and mail car follow behind before the train disappears into the night, leaving the water tower standing alone. Sometimes the quiet moments are the most cinematic.
