@dr.pfarelo.matsila: One of my favourite things about academic coaching is creating spaces where students can engage with complex research concepts in languages they feel comfortable using. In this session, we were unpacking data analysis in Tshivenda, and I was reminded that academic knowledge does not have to be confined to English to be rigorous, meaningful or transformative. Sometimes, understanding begins when we explain things in the language that feels like home. ❤️ My approach to academic coaching is rooted in empowerment, accessibility and helping students become confident, independent researchers.
