My favorite responses are always “What happened to showing up?” Because they (and their manager) created an entire narrative around a black woman, saying that she’s “lazy/not a team player” (which is a racist stereotype) when not only was she not the only one missing, but she is disabled and had a doctor’s note for why she was missing (when another member admitted to lying to get out of rehearsal with no pushback) It was not only racist but ableist. Then they continued playing into that narrative after their debut with their whole “showing up” tour. Now that they’re dropping like flies (because yes, they’re being dramatically overworked) the fans are throwing that narrative back in their face and doing to them what they did to Manon. I’m sorry but I just can’t feel sorry for them when fans react that way (Do I feel sorry that they’re being dramatically overworked? Absolutely, that’s horrible, but for the fans reacting that way? No. It’s kinda satisfying)

I will always have a dislike towards the girls and the company of how they treated their only black member and I will keep bringing “up showing up for each other” and “the group is bigger than one girl” until I get a proper statement about how things went about with Manon. How they treated Manon will be their downfall.

the way these comments (not the video) are operating on the assumption that the OT5 girls are just as much to blame, as if they've got control over their schedule, is driving me crazy. Manon's hiatus was the canary in the coalmine for the type of work they're forcing these girls into.

I think Katseye will be fine, Beyoncé and her dad literally kicked out 2 members from destiny’s child and no one cared. Katseye just needs to make sure that their music is better, which I don’t think is hard to do given what they are releasing currently.

Y’all are talking about mistreatment and I’ve still not seen a single mistreatment towards Manon. She didn’t want to work and you expect the other 5 girls to drop their career because someone doesn’t want to work?? It doesn’t work that way. The only things the Katseye girls need is rest, they’ve been overworked this year and it’s catching up to them, they should take the year off and get back together next year.
