A woman's greatest offence was that she had no child. Based on the pictures and videos that are circulating online she did absolutely nothing wrong. She didn't kill anyone, she didn't offend anyone. The only "offence" she was alleged to have committed was that she hadn't had a baby. Her husband subsequently married another wife and she had several children. At a family gathering the children were all there, presenting their mother with gifts, the wrappers, the money and all the other stuff. The first wife was of course the butt of the joke and was made to feel utterly ridiculous as she had no child of her own. What's so heartbreaking about this is the reported total silence of the husband whilst his first wife was going through all that emotional pain. The woman just couldn't hold back her tears. She was crying buckets and her tears were getting others. There were people who were actually crying alongside her. My question is what was her offence exactly? Is motherhood now a prerequisite for a woman to be regarded as worthy of respect in her matrimonial home? A woman who has no child is still a woman. She is entitled to love, to dignity, to protection and to respect. Childlessness is not a crime and no-one should be made to suffer for something which may be entirely out of their control.
