@isokotalkingtv: “WE DON’T NEED ₦50,000 EMPOWERMENT; WE NEED ELECTRICITY!” During Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s visit to Isoko, residents used the opportunity to express their concerns over the persistent electricity crisis in Isoko land. One of the women who spoke explained that access to electricity would create opportunities for small businesses, support families and help parents provide better education for their children. She gave the example of how electricity could enable an Isoko woman to produce and sell chilled sachet water to support her family and send her children to school. Others also spoke about how years of darkness have affected businesses, livelihoods and development across our communities. Their message was clear: while financial empowerment may provide temporary relief, reliable electricity is a much-needed foundation for sustainable economic growth. Our people are asking for more than temporary assistance. Isoko needs reliable electricity! What is your take? Is electricity not one of the most important needs of our communities?
