Fun fact. Alice started California pizza kitchen right out of that kitchen. You are looking at the original brick pizza oven.

That's an **indoor barbecue grill** — built right into the brick chimney wall next to the ovens. It was a real 60s/70s thing — Thermador sold them as a matched set with the wall ovens, and the Brady set had one. You'd grill over charcoal indoors, with the chimney pulling the smoke out, and that little ledge at the bottom was for the coals and ash cleanup. Funny part is, for all the time Alice spent in that kitchen, it basically never got used on the show. It just sat there looking impressive — a nifty 60s invention that mostly collected dust.
