As soon as I found out that Jeff-Tech, the school in our community was closing.I knew that my stepsister would be in money trouble. She was a teacher,RN at that school.Bad time to pull all of this on me.My father and stepmother, both retired. My other stepsister works at Goodwill, and she has been there for 20 yrs, plus doesn't have a liscence to get back and forth to work. They may be mad at me for saying this, but THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH,and they r not my FAMILY.They may think that I still believe that they r,but no.I have had my chance to be a millionaire, but GOD told me no.And just like all of these other things,it was just a test.I wouldn't care if they proved to me that they have changed there ways,b/c it is not me that they have to prove it to.I gave up everything, all that I had when I got here was what was in the back of a 6 cylinder van.

I'm writing this as a veteran who's been down in that dark myself. Not a doctor. Someone who's clawed out of that place more than once, and who's spent the last fifteen years walking other veterans out of it. So hear me out on something most people are too careful to say. The crisis hotline is not the answer we keep telling each other it is. I'm not knocking the people who pick up. A lot of them care. But a call to a stranger can get a veteran through a night. It cannot build the thing that makes them want the next one. And that thing is what we're actually missing. Let me give you the real numbers, because they matter. The VA officially counts around seventeen, eighteen veterans a day lost to this. But independent research that digs into the overdoses and the deaths that get quietly miscounted puts the real toll closer to forty a day, maybe more. And here's the one that should stop you cold. Six out of ten veterans we lost last year were not in the system at all. Not getting care. Not on anyone's list. The veterans we are losing are the ones nobody is reaching. A number you call only works if you're the kind of veteran who'll call it. Most of the ones I worry about never will. And even when they do, I'll tell you straight, from doing this thousands of times: you can be the most emotionally intelligent voice on the planet and still not flip a veteran's emotional state through a phone with somebody they've never met. The shift that actually pulls them back doesn't happen that way. If a call is what you've got tonight, use it. Get through the night. Just know it's a tourniquet, not a cure. Here's the cure. It's closer than you think, and it's three things. One. Belonging. A veteran needs a place to belong after the uniform comes off. A group of brothers and sisters, some still in the fight, some who've made it through, standing close enough that you learn two things. You're not the only one. And there's a way forward, because you're looking right at the ones who found it. I have watched that one truth alone keep veterans on this earth. With my own eyes. Two. Purpose. We were built to feel most alive when we're useful, serving something bigger than ourselves. That doesn't stop mattering when you get out. It matters more. A veteran with a mission doesn't go looking for the exit. Three. Routine. The simplest one, and maybe the strongest. A real routine across three lanes. Mental wellness. Physical wellness. Connection with people who matter. In fifteen years, that's the force multiplier I've watched turn a veteran all the way around. Not just decide to stick around. Turn the whole thing around. And let me say this plain. The most dangerous place a veteran lands isn't the loud pain. It's the numbness. When the feeling goes flat and a veteran stops fighting the thought because they've stopped feeling anything at all. That's exactly why you cannot ride that out by yourself. I'll go deeper on that one next time. One more. Don't assume the veteran who looks fine is fine. The ones who look successful, who look happy in the photos, are often the ones drowning the quietest, especially when they're missing those three things. Look deeper. Always look deeper. Bottom line, I'm writing this to put a light on the real problem and the real fix, so maybe we start doing better than a phone number and a hope. Until the system catches up, here's my stopgap, and it's simple. Come into my group, Before 22. Let the brothers and sisters carry some of the weight with you. Get safe enough to finally say it out loud. Grow. Then turn around and pull the next one through the door behind you. And if you're a veteran carrying this right now, don't sit in it alone tonight. Get to one person. A brother or sister, your spouse, me, anybody real. DM me and I'll answer. You're still here. That's not nothing. That's the whole fight, still in your hands.

Jeśli ja mogłem to osiągnąć – Wy też możecie.
