I catch as many as 300 catfish a year, and use shad, bluegill sometimes night crawlers, none stink.

Blue catfish prefer shad above everything else. Everything in the lake eats shad. Fresh caught shad is the ticket. Fish around structure. Structure holds shad and shad means predator fish like the blue catfish. Now Channel Catfish prefer stink baits and fresh dead shad. Flathead catfish like live bait like a brim or a perch.

thank you. very informed person. I can't find sunn,rock,etc. im from W.N.Y Blue g etc. sad! cropie, etc. sad . same with all. too old to walk down to devils hole. salmon, steel head. I do chest wading in cattauragust creek. in Erving ny. Bass steel head! and even caught a few gar pikes ! would like response if ok. thanks brings back more memories. 👌
