Everyone n everything triggers avoidants! They’re problematic n the main problem usually bc avoidants make even the securely attached anxious!

putting all the situations in the same box it's not really clever. You're right, comunication IS key, but maybe the anxious person requires an amount of comunication that feels excesive and leads nowhere because no matter how much you tell them that you care, or try to show them, there will always be something in the back of their mind telling them otherwise, and as an avoidant that makes us pull back. it's hard for both, and we do love you, but as you said, that person didnt do their healing and just shutting them off doesn't seem like this open space we all need to heal our issues.

They communicate with everyone else but their partner, though. I was with an avoidant who even claimed in the beginning when we were just friends that he sucks at communicating. But come to find out he was communicating all of his disappointments of me with his “ work mom” and that infuriated me so bad …that I expressed to him that he could come to me about issues he has with me, and that was like my strike one for being too emotional lol like you said, either communicate it or leave, and that’s what made him mad. like either tell me or leave me, and I asked him multiple times, do you wanna be with me? Is everything cool? He’d say..Yeah, everything’s fine, but no, he would go and run and talk about how unfine things were between us.. exhausting.

Told my ex multiple times that i wasn’t afraid of losing this relationship I was only concerned with this being a HEALTHY DECISION. Got nothing in return absolutely nothing. Now they tell me they’re happy alone while still missing me like gtfo I just wanted someone chill for once.

I know how toxic and abusive some anxious are. But im anxious and while in early relationships I can acknowledge ways I might have come on too strong or not handled things how I would now, ive ALWAYS strived to make the other person feel comfortable and safe and cared for. and I know I achieved that. And I know many other anxious relates to that. they dont feel safe but its not our fault. its all their own silly issues that they decided not to communicate.

As a former dismissive avoidant who chose to heal, who went to therapy and who just deal with a fearful avoidant but an avoidant person can even make someone who’s at first secure to become anxious bruh I had to be in both situations and the worst is when the person take no accountability cause being an avoidant is not an excuse to hurt people gotta heal

Right. They know that they are risking the relationship, because they are scared to disappoint someone they like. And they do the only thing, that disappoint their partner and pushes them away. It’s so paradox. I still can’t wrap my head around it.

I have a secure attachment and must say both of ya’ll need healing😩 You seem to be calling avoidants out by saying that if they feel unsafe they need to communicate or leave etc., but babe you ALSO felt unsafe emotionally. You should have left as well. I think most anxious people lack boundaries. They state them, tell them out loud, but they don’t want to enforce the boundary, because that means leaving.

but anxious doesnt want to communicate but sooth their insecurities and get validation. if they dont get it they act out what does make it feel unsafe. both are unhealthy and need help. so plwase go to the therapy yourself and also take the accountability.
