Musk says the move will free up space to increase production of the company's self-driving Cybercab robotaxis. The Cybertruck struggled to meet sales expectations, with US sales falling 48% in 2025 to 20,237 vehicles, compared with Musk's original target of 250,000 a year. Incorrect. Winding down yes but not ceasing production. Cybertruck production will continue at lower volumes to make room for CyberCab production.

Nissan was mass manufacturing the Nissan Leaf four years before Tesla Model S. Model X 3 years after that. He didn’t invent the EV he just made some cooler looking ones which sold better for a while but he’s been way overtaken by BYD and others now. He can’t compete on quality, spec or price. Plus half the world hates his political meddling so he’s halved his customer base. Hardly anyone in Europe would buy Tesla now. Jaeco is biggest selling brand uk. Tesla is in decline.
