The first congress in the Obama era is what radicalized me. Democrats had every branch of government and all we got was Obamacare, heightening of the police state and drone warfare. But don’t worry, Obama was charming and well-spoken, so they couldn’t do anything bad at all.

My Republican parents talked openly about how the Democrats never deliver on their promises. This was the first year my father thought the Republicans were kooky. Well, knowing not to trust what either side said lead me to learn about socialism/communism.

I have a question. Do you still study Roosevelt's history? Do you know what policies he has brought to you? In fact, many of our policies have learned from Roosevelt's policies. Roosevelt has a whole page of independent introduction in our history.

anyone who's been engaged in US politics for the past 22+ years should all be doing this. we are adults with experience in the room, and we know better. demystify the system and guide those younger to a real solution. I wish somebody would have given me this message in the early 2000s.

I just know I'm an early commenter and I want what you think about the meeting between Vice President Nixon and Khrushchev in Moscow where they looked at how each other's citizens live.

Like what's going on in canada. we were so excited to not have a conservative government and here the liberal party are continuing giving billionaires tax cuts and building data centre's. I'm exhausted.

The ratchet effect is a very apt way to explain the Democrats misrepresenting their cycles of losing as “moving to far to the left” when the reality is the opposite.

Completely agree on breaking the cycle, but there's a vital question Marxist-Leninist groups on this continent often dodge: What is our relationship to Indigenous sovereignty?
Solidarity does not confer jurisdiction. Seizing the means of production on stolen land without recognizing Indigenous governance just paints the settler state red.
If we want a genuine alternative to empire, socialist organizations must practice prefigurative diplomacy today—treating Indigenous nations as existing, unbroken sovereigns through bilateral treaties and negotiated consent, rather than populations waiting to be absorbed into a new central state. Real anti-imperialism starts on the ground we stand on.
