My opinion is if this cycle IVF was successful that OP would be cut off from the friendship because the friend would not want to be around her anymore because she didn’t consider herself in the struggle and would not want to be reminded of where she came from. Go no contact and realized you dodged a bullet.

But it wasn’t a joke, it was a personal conversation she had with another friend. I mean seeing her friend go through that, surely she can see that being a fear for her knowing that could happen? Especially her being on the same path, it’s likely a huge fear and she didn’t want to go through the emotions her friend did. I think the other friend who sent it to her is an asshole- she knew it would cause drama and upset so fuelled it. Just sad that she couldn’t rant and speak about her feelings to someone without drama being started and her dreams being crushed
