Every human starts life the same way: unable to feed themselves, unable to speak, communicating only through crying and manipulation because that is the only tool available to get a need met. That is not a flaw. That is simply what infancy is. The problem is what happens next. Development is supposed to move a person from dependency into independence, and eventually into interdependence, where two whole people connect by choice rather than necessity. But most people never make that first move. They grow taller, they grow older, and they keep using the same tools they learned in the crib — tears, tantrums, guilt, withdrawal — just aimed at a partner instead of a parent. Nobody sits a person down and says, "the way you're getting your needs met right now is the same strategy you used at six months old." So the behavior gets relabeled. It becomes "communication style," or "how I express myself," or "just who I am." It is rarely named for what it actually is: a stalled stage of development. This is why so many adult relationships feel like managing a child instead of partnering with an equal. One or both people never finished growing up, and nobody ever taught them that growing up was even a requirement. I am an interdisciplinary educator and Systems Architect for Human Development. My work is about naming these stages clearly, so people can recognize where they actually are instead of where they assume they are. If you're ready to find out which stage you're really operating from, and finally move past it, join us for The Fulfillment Formula™.
