@mollypelletier.rd: Still clearing your throat all day, even on a PPI? In silent reflux (LPR), pepsin is often what keeps your throat irritated. Pepsin is a stomach enzyme that travels up with reflux and sticks to throat tissue. A PPI lowers acid, but it doesn't remove pepsin. At your throat's normal pH, pepsin goes quiet but stays intact, so the next reflux event, even a small one, can switch it back on. In lab testing, pH 8.8 alkaline water shut pepsin off for good. Regular drinking water didn't. How we use this with clients: alkaline water, pH 8.8 or higher, between meals. Save this for your next flare, and follow for more. 💚 📚 Johnston 2007 (PMID 17417109), Koufman & Johnston 2012 (PMID 22844861) #LPR #silentreflux #pepsin #alkalinewater #throatclearing

Hello Molly, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, I only drink alkaline water for 1 week now. Like 1-2 liters of alkaline water a day is that okay? I'm not combining any other kind of water just the alkaline.

So this isn’t something we want to solely drink?
