How to run a Claude skill inside Microsoft Copilot Studio (full build) How to take a Claude skill and run it inside Microsoft Copilot Studio, so anyone on your team can use it right from Microsoft Teams. Same skill, no rewrite. A real build, every click. The skill: it writes a branded Word proposal for a cleaning company. A sales rep gives it the call notes and gets back a finished four-page proposal. Every price comes from a small Python script inside the skill, so the AI never types a number. How to add a Claude skill to Copilot Studio: 1. Zip the skill folder. A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file (name, description, instructions) plus what the job needs: here a Word template, a price script and one image. Put SKILL.md at the top of the zip. 2. Create the agent in the new Copilot Studio experience (agents powered by GitHub Copilot). The name box takes 30 characters. 3. Write short agent instructions: who it works for, use the proposal skill, never type a price, attach the Word file, answer in three short lines. Change the skill's ending here in the agent, and leave the skill untouched. Turn off extras you don't need, like web search. 4. Pick the model. The default is Claude Opus. For a job like this, pick Claude Haiku: one full proposal cost 6 to 7 Copilot credits, about 6 or 7 cents. One answer on Opus cost almost 23. 5. Upload the skill: Skills → + → Upload a skill → the zip. Copilot reads the skill's description to decide when to use it, so write it in your team's words. 6. Test in Preview. The trace shows

The trace shows "Used skill", the script runs inside Microsoft's own sandbox (the Word library is already there), and the Word file comes back attached, with every price straight from the script. 7. Publish to Microsoft Teams and share it with your sales rep. Right after publishing, Teams can say the app can't be found. Wait a few minutes and open the link again. 8. In Teams, the rep pastes the call notes. The first time, it asks for permission to upload the file to their OneDrive. Click Allow, and the proposal shows up right in the chat. Two things to know before you build your own: - Files only come back in a chat. If a Power Automate workflow calls the agent, it gets text back without the file. - Test your edge cases. When an office size was missing, the smaller model called it a custom quote. It never invented a number, but test the calls that matter to your business. One skill, written once: it runs in Claude, and now it runs inside Copilot Studio and Microsoft Teams for your whole team. Works for sales proposals, quotes, reports and any document your team makes again and again. I'm putting together a full Microsoft Copilot course, and this build is one of the lessons, step by step. It's coming to my community, next to lessons that take you from the very beginning of AI all the way to advanced.
