@.hormonepositivej: 🎗️ BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS: HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE NATERA BLOOD TEST? 🩸 Can a blood test detect signs of cancer returning before a scan? One of the biggest fears after breast cancer treatment is wondering whether cancer could come back. That’s where Natera’s Signatera blood test comes in. 🩸 WHAT IS SIGNATERA? Signatera is a personalized blood test that looks for tiny amounts of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in your bloodstream. This DNA can sometimes be released by cancer cells remaining in the body. 🔬 HOW DOES IT WORK? 1. Doctors use tissue from your original tumor to create a personalized test. 2. A blood sample is collected. 3. The test looks for DNA matching your cancer. 4. It may detect molecular signs of recurrence before cancer becomes visible on imaging. 💚 WHAT DOES A NEGATIVE RESULT MEAN? No tumor DNA was detected in that blood sample. That’s encouraging news! But a negative result does NOT guarantee you’re cancer-free or that cancer will never return. ❤️ WHAT DOES A POSITIVE RESULT MEAN? Tumor DNA was detected, which may indicate remaining cancer or an increased risk of recurrence. However, a positive result does not automatically tell doctors where cancer is or whether treatment should change. ⚠️ IMPORTANT TO KNOW Signatera is not a replacement for mammograms when indicated, other recommended testing, or hormone-blocking medications. Researchers are still studying whether using ctDNA results to guide treatment improves survival. Routine testing is not recommended for every breast cancer survivor. 🎗️ THE EMOTIONAL SIDE For many survivors, waiting for these results can bring back the same fear and anxiety we felt when we were first diagnosed. Sometimes we just want reassurance that everything we went through was enough. 💗 LET’S TALK ABOUT IT! 👇 Have you had the Natera Signatera blood test? 👇 Were your results negative or positive? 👇 Does getting tested give you peace of mind, or does it make your anxiety worse? Just had my Signatera blood test 2 days ago. If it’s negative, hallelujah! If it’s positive, it’s found before any symptoms or before anything can be seen on a scan.

3 years out from treatment/surgery and after two negatives, I’ve had five positive Nateras. Scans are negative so I continue on hyper observation. Yuck !!
