They told them before the flight go through Alabama to avoid that storm. It would've delayed them 2 to 3 hrs instead they went straight through the storm.

The devastating move was going even higher That move literally killed them. If they would’ve called in an emergency and forced ATC to take their diversion they’d be fine. But I genuinely think the captain took the gamble of testing his limits.

Pilot error is the reason, there is rules that pilots are required to follow but they did not want to go around that thunderstorm.

Private jets look to be less invested in simply because commercial planes hold more passengers and bring in more revenue per trip on average. But the truth is turbulence for a commercial plane will have double or triple the effect on a private jet. Just cos you have more money doesn’t mean it’s the best way to travel folks

+/- 600-700ft is not moderate turbulence. They we’re getting tossed around i would say severe turbulence and severe icing. At that point you have get out of that icing and i THINK climbing made it worse. The book says to climb but idk
