12 Nigerian Banking Stocks: BUY, WATCH or SKIP? 👀📈 You saw my ratings in the video. Now, here’s why I placed each stock where I did. First, BUY doesn’t mean rush and buy at any price, WATCH doesn’t mean the company is bad, and SKIP doesn’t mean the stock will never perform well. These are my research-based opinions, not guarantees. 🟢 BUY 1. Zenith Bank (ZENITHBANK) Zenith has a strong history of profitability and dividend payments. It’s one of the banks I’d consider for long-term exposure, provided the valuation makes sense. 2. FCMB Group (FCMB) FCMB has shown encouraging earnings growth. I like the potential, but I’d still pay attention to its capital position, asset quality and the price I’m paying. 3. Stanbic IBTC Holdings (STANBIC) Stanbic has demonstrated strong earnings performance and operates across banking and other financial services. That diversified business model makes it interesting to me. 🟡 WATCH 4. GTCO (GTCO) I like the strength of the business, but a good company isn’t automatically a good buy at every price. I’d watch its valuation before entering. 5. First HoldCo (FIRSTHOLDCO) There’s potential here, but after significant share-price movements, I’d rather assess the latest earnings and valuation than rush in. 6. Access Holdings (ACCESSCORP) Access has an extensive banking network and long-term growth opportunities. However, I’d want more clarity on earnings quality, capital needs and valuation. 7. Wema Bank (WEMABANK) Wema’s growth has been interesting, but I’d want to know how much of that growth is already reflected in the share price. 8. Fidelity Bank (FIDELITYBK) Fidelity is worth monitoring, but I’d prefer to review its latest complete financial results before making a stronger decision. 9. Jaiz Bank (JAIZBANK) Jaiz operates a different banking model from conventional banks, which makes it interesting. But I’d need more clarity on valuation, earnings sustainability and liquidity. 🔴 SKIP FOR NOW 10. UBA (UBA) UBA has a strong African banking presence, but I have concerns about earnings predictability and the risks across its operating markets. I’d want a clearer picture before buying. 11. Sterling Financial Holdings (STERLINGNG) I’d like to see more evidence of consistent earnings quality and manageable credit risk before considering an entry. 12. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) Ecobank has a wide African footprint, but profitability pressures, credit risks and the complexity of operating across multiple markets make me cautious. Which of these ratings do you agree or disagree with? Tell me why in the comments. 👇 Save this post for your next stock research session.
