Tap the link in my bio to start the drawing drills course. If your crosshatching always looks flat, the problem might actually be the direction of your lines. You can have perfectly spaced hatch marks and still end up with a drawing that lacks depth. When you cross your lines at rigid 90-degree angles, you create a grid that can make the surface feel flat and mechanical. Now compare that to cross-contour hatching. Instead of treating the petals of this rose like a flat surface, imagine wrapping curved lines around each petal, following the way it bends, folds, and turns through 3D space. When you add another layer of hatching, slightly change the angle while continuing to respect the curvature of the form. Now your marks are doing two jobs. They’re creating darker values while describing the volume and direction of the surface underneath. Neither technique is inherently wrong. They’re simply different approaches that produce different visual effects. But if you’re learning how to draw realistic forms with ink, understanding directional crosshatching is an incredibly useful skill. Don’t just cross your lines. Make them follow the form. #howtodraw #drawingtutorial #drawinghowto #artlesson
Locker room celebration clip post 10-3 victory over Texas A&M in the first round of the College Football Playoff. From Francis "Sisi" Mauigoa and Anez Cooper taunting Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. Before the playoff game, Jeremiyah Love had openly rooted for Texas A&M to beat the Hurricanes on Instagram, posting a message saying, "Texas A&M, you know the job." The bad blood stemmed from earlier that season when Miami beat Notre Dame 27-24. In that regular-season matchup, Miami's defense completely locked down Love, holding him to just 33 yards on 10 carries. After Miami took care of business against the Aggies, Mauigoa and Cooper fired back directly from the locker room. Mauigoa famously looked at the camera and said, "Hey Jeremiyah Love, you mad?" to mock Love for watching the playoffs from home.
