@chandbhangal: I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on the new direction my life has taken, and I never would have imagined myself being in this position. I have such strong roots back home in Brampton, but to have found and gained access to such a beautiful and supportive community across an entire ocean is truly a blessing. I initially pursued embroidery because I wanted to reduce my screen time. Fast-forward two years, and I now find myself encouraging others to create, explore, and develop their fine motor skills through embroidery. In an age increasingly shaped by technology and AI, I think there is something so meaningful about encouraging people to slow down, work with their hands, and create something tangible, personal, and powerful. But beyond that, there is something deeply important to me about preserving the tradition of Phulkari. It is such a beautiful part of Punjabi heritage, and I don’t want to see the stories, skills, and cultural significance behind it slowly fade or become forgotten. I hope that through these workshops, I can play a small part in keeping this tradition alive, creating opportunities for people to learn about it, appreciate it, and carry it forward. Thank you to everyone who has attended my workshops and continues to make these spaces so special.
