@jamielynnrinn: It’s been one week since I lost my person, and every day feels like the same unbearable day. I keep waiting to wake up and realize this was all a nightmare, to see his name light up my phone, hear his voice, or watch him pull into the driveway. Even after the funeral, even when I’m surrounded by his family in his home, some part of me is still waiting for him to walk through that door. My mind knows he’s gone, but my heart keeps searching for him everywhere. Nothing feels real anymore. The world is still moving, the sun still rises, but everything feels different without him in it. I miss him in every quiet moment, in every familiar place, in every breath I wish I could share with him. There is a hole inside my heart or my soul that belongs only to him, and I don’t know how to live with the pain of knowing he isn’t here to fill it again.

In that moment you realize how silly life is. It’s gonna suck for a while, waking up feeling your world collapsing, till one day you realize what happened was out of your control, and he died physically, but in your head, heart, and in each and every memory you have he’s still alive, so you spend the time left cherishing his legacy. Building a life you know he wanted for you, they say you die 2 times, the first time when your day comes, and the second time when they stop bringing your name up, so listen , don’t let him die for the second time, he’s there with you, just in a different form.
