My boyfriend and I do long distance!! (i’m in aus and he’s in the uk) and we don’t go longer than 3 months apart, always book to see each other so we have something to look forward to/countdown to, and also try to call once a day even just for 5 mins. I’m moving to the uk next year tho!!! 🥰

My partner and I did a year apart - having a countdown/next visit scheduled really helped us, and virtual date nights (movies, online games). Also surprise orders for each other sometimes through Deliveroo helped to feel closer ❤️

Take the time to focus on yourself, try to make a schedule of when you call etc especially with the time zones. The best thing that helped was knowing when you’re reuniting again, and just taking it week by week ❤️

Always try to have the next visit booked in, or at least an idea of when it’ll be. Weekly virtual date nights - even if it’s just having eachother on the phone while you scroll. We’re 2.5 years strong - UK & US.. Now engaged & counting down the days until the distance is over. I didn’t know how the hell it was gona work at the start but if you both want it, you’ll make it happen 🥰

@Lois Clark: I did long distance for 3 years. If you love each other you will do anything to make it work, always remember that. Stay consistent and keep a good routine to stay in contact. Also take the time for yourself, and do things that make you happy especially loving being alone (at times). Always have the next trip planned so you have something to look forward to! X

I did long distance for 3 years (England/ France) so time zones weren’t as challenging as yours but we’d watch movies together on FaceTime!! We’d get treats and chat about the film as we watched it !!! It was my favourite thing to do together
