My daughter had the window seat and I asked her to close the shade because the sun was shining in the face of the lady across from us. She thanked us for closing it. My daughter opened it after the sun went down 😁

The amount of radiation receiving from that window is about 10-20 walk throughs of the TSA scan. As a Flight Attendant they have a document that tells us about the birth defects that can happen from radiation exposure.

I had this situation on a 8h day flight. I was using the light from outside to read and the stuardes asked me to close it and use the seat light from above- it’s terrible and unconfortable, there’s a reason I took the window seat. I didn’t close it, turned out the people around me also thought that the window being open in way less disturbing than the lights from above, because those are visible for 100% of the cabin.
