I have been sober for 15 years. I did 90 meetings in 90 days. I still do meetings today. Going to a sober living facility really helps. He was riding the pink cloud and unfortunately it doesn’t last. You can not help him but support his sobriety. It will get better I promise. Addiction affects the whole family. Has his doctor suggested antidepressant to get him through his depression? It is hard to sleep when you first get sober. Believe me when I say it is not you. Take care of yourself please. I’ll be praying for both of you🙏

It’s BS I told you he’s gotta get to the bottom you gotta kick him out. He’s gotta figure it out and you gotta get a hold of your life and move on.

At the end of the day, he’s feeling this way because he wants to use. That’s what you know in your heart. I can see the fear in your eyes. I’ve been there way too many times to count watching my loved ones do the same thing until they finally decided to get sober. It took everything within my soul to let go and let be. It’s really hard for you to do it I know, but it’s the only way you’re going to know he either has to sink or swim and either way it doesn’t have anything to do with you. Even though I know you love him and he loves you but sadly that’s not enough.

Good for him ! make sure he lets people know he's new, that's key, that and a higher power, I had a problem with that for years, what a difference 👍

I hope you get yourself into Al-Anon. Listen to some stories to go to our meeting every day. Find a sponsor. Focus on you. I lost my fiancé 25 years ago. Alon saved my life.

I highly suggest he go to an AA mtg today ....like I said in my other comments he really needs to go to a mtg "everyday" for longer than 90 days.....Believe me I'm Sober from Alcohol, Weed,Opiods & Suboxone.....60 days isn't that long (as I know from my experience) even at 9 mos I still wasn't The Happiest Person but I knew I wanted to not be a Slave to Alcohol & Substances so like I said in other posts I did 495 mtgs in my 1st year.....The AA mtgs he will meet other Sober people & make friends 🙏 & that will help him & He'll needs a Sponsor......We Do Recover.....If WE DO The Work!!!....Keep being Supportive of him like you have been but also their is a saying We have in AA....."Don't Be Surprised With The Results You Get For The Work You Don't Do".....Plus I can tell you that it takes a few months to get through Detoxing off of Suboxone.....You don't sleep for a while anyway after stopping Subs alone as well as Alcohol.....Take baths with magnesium in the water...Take B12 & Vit C vitamins daily this will help. Also get him to read the book "A Million Little Pieces" it really is enlightening.... He is gonna be Depressed for awhile cuz he list his "Best Friend" which is Alcohol & Substances & It's gonna take awhile to Get Use Not Being Abke To Use.....Good Luck PRAY & Keep The Faith 🙏💛

As someone who is in recovery 3 1/2 years now I can tell you the first 6 months are the most difficult…the first year is difficult. I promise you it does get better truly. He needs to make his recovery number 1 above anything else.

He got to go back!! If not he needs to get a sponsor with somebody ASAP! And unfortunately, you’re right you can’t do anything. This is out of your control.

Take it from someone who has been there many moons ago, this is his addiction not yours. You can only control what you can which is yourself and your reactions. ❤️

He needs to find a hobby or craft to fill his time. I joined a gym and now I am into running. It helps a great deal. Being bored is bad.

An alcoholic once told me, when you are in recovery, it feels like you lost your best friend! You go through depression, and they miss that drink/drug! Hang in there hubby!!!! Wife, Just be supportive, as there is nothing else YOU can do! Sending all the luck and strength in the world! ❤️

My husband is also an alcoholic and is working on his sobriety. It’s really hard when you want them to get sober and clean, but they don’t want it for themselves. It’s honestly a lot harder on the support system than what many people give it credit for.
