The number of children I have this year who put things in their mouths is astonishing - hair, clothes, erasers, paper, jewelry, shoe laces… OMG the obsession with their shoes - playing with the laces that are untied (because they don’t know how to tie!), playing with the Velcro, picking at the bottoms, and taking them off for no reason. I even had a student lick her shoe while they were sitting on the rug. 😳
