Latinos have always been divided, the colonial casta system has done permanent damage to Latinos.Add to that, the introduction of evangelical prosperity gospel to Latin America by white missionaries has caused a more selfish outlook on life than most other religious denominations. There is also some reverse discrimination by new Latin Americans to settled Latinos in America, American Latinos are often looked down on as less Latino than new migrants and that breeds resentment. But there is also a lot of machismo in Latin culture and the trump message appeals to those types of Latino men. A lack of education is also playing a big part in Latino men, usually blue collar seem to think Republicans are better for blue collar workers even though the facts don't match that. It's a complex issue that needs to be broken down if you want to shift more Latino men over to the democratic cause. And that's not even counting Cubans, which are a whole other issue.

my husband immigrated here from El Salvador in 2020. the amount of hate and racism he experiences FROM LATINOS is mind boggling. he has been told from those with the same accent to speak english with our child because he’s in the US now. i never new the hatred others held for their own race just because one holds a paper and the other doesn’t
