Part of the flip side of “hey how can I help” is actually following through on that help, though. It also can cost good employees if you ask to help and then do nothing.

I asked my boss to involve me in more projects and give me more tasks to do and she told me I am just a soldier and don’t need to know anything or asking for more! Whenever she needed me I had to be available otherwise I just had the permission to JUST exist!

yup I left a decent job and company because of the manager they hired, he made it like I didn't do anything, and would say he has no visibility into what I was working on when he was on all meetings and then begged me to stay longer when I resigned

I asked for another employee they said no because of payroll. Then manager mage us do things slower. I said i applied to a new job. I left they ended up working 12 hours a day and hired 4 more employees 😂 and this was a company that is known for taking care of the employees

My former idiot manager literally made it her goal to make sure that I ended every single email to everyone, with: You’re the best!! 😃 (Has to be two exclamation points and a smiley face emoji) otherwise my emails were considered ‘mean’ by her and supposedly every recipient 🙄

We had designated business owners (DBO) at Target before I left during the pandemic. My executive team lead (ETL) was furious I allowed my grocery DBO to reconstruct her backroom area to make her pulls more efficient. I trusted my DBO that she knew her business best. They still have the backroom set that way. My entire team walked away within 6 months of me leaving.
