I can see his intentions were... mostly good... he still pushed his kids too hard to fulfill something he couldn't do himself. but his responses were all wrong. he shut touya down flat out. he should have sat him down and said "ok bud, your quirk is hurting you, so until we can get you the support you need we have to take it easier. your more important than anything else". but enji has too much of that machismo bs to actually say any of that

What's you guys have to understand though, is that when you have a kid with mental health issues, you can't blame the kid. Obviously there is something wrong with Toya. Mentally, and when his father instilled a flame in him to become the number one and constantly built their relationship around training and power when all of that was stripped away from it, it hurt toya, so he wasn't just gonna stop using his quirk
