I work in claims. Did they give you an actual title for the vehicle? If so, chunk that air tag somewhere far away and go about your business and keep all documents and receipts of said purchase

Take it to the police station and tell them what happened. Show proof you bought it etc so that way if they do come back for it you’ll have already made the report.

I have the same car! The top part missing on the key fob is the physical key to the car. I always use it when my keyfob dies. They can still get into your car (though they can’t drive it without that fob you found.) I’d try to get the keys changed if you can.

i’m pretty sure there’s a way you can go to a dealership based on whatever make/model the car is and get new keys made for it so the prev ones don’t work.

I had my suburban stolen. Once I got it back (missing the one key fob they took) I went straight to a Chevy dealer and had two new key fobs made under a new ID so the old ones didn’t work anymore. It cost a pretty penny but better safe than sorry. However, if the actual KEY is missing from the fob…idk what they can do about that
