@furi_ortiz: We say goodbye to another legend today at 92 years old 🕊️ Dulcy Singer, the Emmy-winning producer who helped shape generations of Sesame Street, has passed away at 92. Serving as the show's executive producer from 1980 to 1993, Singer helped guide Sesame Street through one of its most influential eras. She also produced the beloved 1978 special Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, earning an Emmy alongside Jon Stone for Outstanding Children's Program. One of her most lasting contributions came after the death of actor Will Lee, who portrayed Mr. Hooper. Singer helped champion the decision to address his passing honestly rather than simply writing the character out. The result was “Farewell, Mr. Hooper,” an unforgettable episode that taught millions of children about loss, grief, and saying goodbye. Though she worked behind the scenes, her influence reached countless homes. She helped make Sesame Street more than just a television show — it became a place where children could learn, laugh, grow, and understand the world around them. Rest in peace, Dulcy Singer. Generations of children grew up with the magic you helped bring to life. 🤍
