the thing w septa is that its getting worse and worse and worse. the trolly that i will typically take will frequently not come for over galf a hour when its supposed to come every 12 mins. the l will also frequently not come, if i have a place i NEED to be its gonna have to be a uber bc i cant rely on shit

it’s such a shame bc if we had better funding to fix the current problems (with timing + upkeep) it would be such a better asset

I'll use it in a group but tbh as a woman alone there is too much harassment 🥲

In Philly about 75% of households own at least 1 car. It’s more common for younger people to use septa. I know some people who refuse to use Septa. If you have access to the BSL/MFL or Regional rail it’s much more convenient than the entire neighborhoods that are not easily traversed by buses. Also a lot of people want the ease of getting around outside of the city or a simple way to get groceries.

The people of Philly have been under-served by public transit for a long time including many abandoned projects that would have interconnected the train system as well. It’s become very ingrained. My parents grew up in Philly decades ago and nothing has changed

Coming from Detroit where we literally do not have any reliable public transit besides a bus and a trolly that goes 2 miles up and down…..
