@pbsnews: In a very early morning post on X, Billionaire Elon Musk announced Telsa will wind down production of the nearly 7,000-pound, stainless steel trucks by the middle of next year. He added the Texas factory where they are produced will instead “make room for increased Cybercab production.” Cybercabs are self-driving, two-passenger vehicles with no steering wheel that Musk has said will cost less than $30,000. Musk was not clear in his announcement if Cybertruck production would be moved elsewhere, but doing so would require a significant investment for the polarizing vehicle whose sales have been largely sluggish. Fewer than 8,300 were sold last quarter. Friday’s announcement comes as Telsa stock fell 11% on Thursday in the wake of midterm elections results that spurred worries over more regulation in the AI space. ##elonmusk #tesla #ai #cybercab #cybertruck
