When I was a kid, my bedroom got so messy and I genuinely didn’t even know where to start to clean it. One day my mother just said fuck it and cleaned it all for me and I got to start from scratch. I never had trouble cleaning after that. Sometimes the problem is just too big for someone to handle on their own 🤷🏻♀️a fresh start is always a good thing

My daughter is adopted. She was removed from her home by DHR at 5 weeks old for similar conditions. Her first (bio) mom was 15 at the time and had always lived like that because that’s how her own mother and father lived. Bio mom (who we’ve stayed in contact with) is now 37 and has since had a son who is now 10. The changes never happened for her parents, but she broke the generational chains for herself and her son. Maybe this home goes back to the way it was, or maybe this is the fresh start they need. Or maybe this inspires the kids to one day break their own generational chains. Whatever happens, helping someone is never the wrong answer. I wish all good things for them going forward. 💚

What a blessing you are all! Suggestion to save your hands/wrists. I use Zep wall cleaner on mine. Instead of a cloth a use a microfiber cloth on my swifter wet jet. Like mopping the walls, so much easier.

Even if it’s a temporary fix. Showing those kids what clean looks like is invaluable!! They will have that point of reference forever and now have been exposed to a different way of living. That’s huge!!!!

my mother is a hoarder and I was responsible for cleaning the house (I was a child) I would have loved someone coming in and teaching me how to clean. This means more to those kids than anyone on here realizes

Because you came and cleaned, those parents are probably actually going to keep their children and then get Services through CPS to help them stay accountable and keep that place clean. You gave them a chance a second chance to do better and we have to believe that people can do better and can really change. Or what are we even doing life for?
