From my autocrane experience, you boomed too far up and the safety stop engaged. you have to override it back down and you should be able to control it again

I would NEVER leave air in a truck like that, especially in this weather with the warm and cold days... extremely bad juju! Drain those air tanks daily, it will save you hassles later.
