BLACK CARNIVORE ALERRRRRRT 🚨😱🇨🇷 We’re putting your knowledge to the test once more, with this black predator. Since one of our previous posts, featuring a jaguarundi, sure did provoke some heated debate in the comment section, we thought, “Well, let’s share some footage of another species to add to the confusion 😆!” So, what is this one this time? A dwarf black jaguar? A jaguarundi? Well, neither of those. This, is a tayra (Eira barbara), or tolomuco. We repeat, this is not a black jaguar nor a jaguarundi, though the confusion can be justified (especially with the latter). And by the two spheres between its hind legs, rumor has it, chances of this individual being a male are high 🤭🎱. Okay, we’re teasing, but on a more serious note, a tayra is not a feline. It belongs to the Mustelidae family, making it closely related to otters and badgers. Mostly active during the daytime, tayras are rather elusive and rare to spot in person. Just to be clear, we will not reveal the exact location, just keep in mind it is occurring on the Osa Peninsula - Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Thanks to @ralphalexanderdebie for sponsoring this camera trap! 🎥🐆 Follow the project @lasoncas and share to the world, jaguars (and all other wildcats!) need us to be their voice! 🐆🌴🇨🇷 ➰ #tayra #blackpanther #jaguar #blackjaguar #pumaconcolor #pantheraonca #onçapintada #wildcat #bigcat #animalphotography #animaloftheday #animalofinstagram #endageredspecies #wildlifephotographer #wildlifephotography #wildlifeaddicts #natureshot #naturelife #cameratrapping #cameratrap #trailcam #neverstopexploring #jungle #tropicalforest #rainforest #thisiscostarica #corcovadonationalpark #osapeninsula #talamanca #costarica
