@burqussion: Coming back to playing after so many years on the back seat was incredibly intimidating, but also felt like coming back home. I performed a rag this spring, and was nervous as crap, and a few outings later pulled off the first movement of Toshimitsu Tanaka‘s Two Movements for Marimba this week, fully memorized. And after a year of incredibly hard work, balancing school with teaching, work, managing a startup, and protecting time with my family, I finally feel like I’m getting my hands back, and despite routinely second guessing if it’s worth it, and fighting the “what if I never stopped” mental games, can say that it is 100% worth it to do things you love doing, every time. #marimba #percussion #unm #practiceroom
