@mjanelle2016: I honestly don't even know where to begin because I am absolutely disgusted. Megyn Kelly, what exactly are we doing here? You're telling people that you have a difficult time believing Russell Brand could commit these offenses because he was charming, sweet, interesting, and funny when you interacted with him? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Since when does being charming mean someone is incapable of hurting another human being? Do you know how many people walk around this world smiling, laughing, making people feel comfortable, and presenting themselves as the nicest people imaginable, while other people have completely different experiences with them? That's the problem with this kind of commentary. Your personal experience with someone is NOT the universal experience of everyone who has ever encountered that person. You can have a wonderful conversation with somebody and still not know who they are behind closed doors. And what about the women? What about the experiences that were brought before a jury? A jury convicted Russell Brand of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. He was acquitted of other charges, and he has denied the allegations. You don't have to personally know someone to understand that your pleasant interaction with them doesn't invalidate someone else's experience. And honestly, that's what I find so frustrating about this. Women should not have to fight against someone's charming personality, public image, popularity, or reputation just to have their experiences taken seriously. Being funny isn't a character reference. Being charming isn't proof of innocence. And knowing someone's public personality doesn't mean you know what they're capable of in private. I really don't have much more to say.
