I go to a chain restaurant I don’t care for overall but everyone is so so nice vs local places that seem I’m a burden being there.

even bad customer service I try to express gratitude because they are just doing a job and often have bad experiences but if I don't treat them poorly then it might improve the experience for the next customer or even just make them feel less overwhelmed for our shared interaction to have a break from the hostility and rude encounters that I assume are frequently occurring
